We are currently looking for a Security & Infrastructure Engineer to join our busy and growing manufacturing company.  The successful candidate will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level.  The incumbent will be forward looking and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Reporting directly to the Data Systems Manager, the Security & Infrastructure Engineer will provide a bridge between infrastructure engineering and security operations, focusing on ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our cloud environments and development pipelines. Including support for both internal and client-facing services.

 

Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

 Infrastructure & Cloud Operations

  • Design, configure, and manage secure, scalable Azure and O365 environments
  • Deploy and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery configurations
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, resource usage, and costs
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  • Participate in on-call support rotations for critical infrastructure systems

 Security Engineering

  • Implement and enforce cloud security policies, firewalls, and access control using tools like Azure Policy, Key Vault, and IAM roles
  • Manage vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Tenable, Snyk) and coordinate penetration testing efforts
  • Integrate and operate SIEM tools like Azure Sentinel, and configure IDS/IPS, WAF, and ASM solutions
  • Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses using NIST, CIS, and ISO 27001 frameworks

 DevSecOps & Pipeline Security

  • Configure and secure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Perform security code reviews (preferably .NET) and advocate for secure coding practices
  • Automate compliance checks and vulnerability scans in the SDLC

Governance & Compliance

  • Lead audit preparation, evidence collection, and compliance tracking for SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and similar frameworks
  • Maintain clear documentation for security configurations, incidents, and procedures
  • Track emerging threats and evolving regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) to ensure continuous compliance
  • All other duties and related projects assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
  • Must be a self-starter and work independently to be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, organized with strong time management
  • Strong documentation and technical writing capabilities
  • Team-oriented and capable of mentoring junior engineers
  • Continuous learner with a passion for improving systems and security posture
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English
  • Strong Understanding of Azure and Office 365 architecture
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and orchestration
  • Knowledge of cloud-native monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Dynatrace)
  • Familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and secure application development principles

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in a 24/7 production environment with cloud-based infrastructure
  • Proven expertise in Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
  • Experience with secure network architecture, VPN, ZTNA, DNS, and Transit Gateway configurations
  • Preferred Certifications in Azure Security Engineer Associate / Solutions Architect, and/or AWS Certified Security – Specialty / Solutions Architect
  • Other relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, etc.) are considered an asset
