The Opportunity
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Tampa, FL, and Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
As a member of the second line of defense, the Compliance and Operational Risk Testing Analyst implements independent testing under the Enterprise Testing program methodology to ensure departmental processes and activities align with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures. The incumbent will compile and retain well documented work papers to create accurate and concise written reports including issues, root cause and recommended corrective action.
What you'll do:
- Under guidance, develops the steps needed to test and/or analyze compliance with applicable policies/procedures and laws/regulations.
- Assists in independent testing to ensure operational risks and compliance requirements are adhered to.
- Completes assigned compliance and operational risk testing activities in accordance with established timelines and high standards of quality.
- Prepares detailed and objective work papers to support conclusions.
- Gathers information, analyzes data trends, identifies root causes, and provides information to the team.
- Provides input in to testing results/reports.
- Builds, develops, and maintains relationships with the business and internal control partners (Audit, Risk & Compliance, Legal) to facilitate collaboration between all lines of defense for testing.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree and 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience (internal/external audit, operational risk/compliance testing, quality assurance)
- Basic knowledge of testing techniques and data analysis principles.
- Working knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
What sets you apart:
- Active certification (i.e., CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CEH) in Information Security or Information Technology
- 2+ years’ experience in IT/Information Security Audit, Examination, Testing, or Engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Engineering or Business preferred.
- Cyber Resiliency, Cloud Computing, PCI or Privacy experience a plus
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner [optional]
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $62,470 - $111,940.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
