What you’ll do

We are looking for a talented Data platform support engineer to join our team. As a pioneer in digital transformation, you will be at the forefront of innovation, and you’ll be instrumental in driving success for the development and maintenance of the SAP Security Data Mesh. You will be part of a global team driving industry innovation with access to world-class training and development opportunities.

 

What you bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience of technical support or similar role bias towards security operations
  • Basic knowledge of security information and event monitoring (SIEM)
  • Support and operate cutting-edge data architectures ensuring maximum service availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal product teams and services to deliver tailored data-driven solutions.
  • Stay informed and ahead of the curve by continuously updating your knowledge of emerging data technologies and trends.
  • Experience administering and/or operating of one or more of
    • Splunk and/or similar platforms
    • data streaming tools e.g. Cribl, Kafka
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and data tools
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel, command line and system diagnostics
  • Exposure to scripting basics and regular expressions.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, good time management and prioritization of workload.
  • Able to support for cyber detection content development and asymmetric hunt services.
  • Knowledge of information security frameworks and requirements (e.g., PCI, NIST, SOC, GDPR).
  • Experience with automation and integration of large complex datasets.
  • Bachelor’s degree focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines or equivalent experience.
  • Industry Security Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CCSP, GCFA, GCIH, GCIA, GNFA, GREM, GCCC, or Security+) are preferred.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and oral)

The Data & Platform Engineering team is a major component of Cyber Detection Organization at SAP.  Providing a central security data and platform service from to collect and correlate security relevant data enabling security monitoring, threat detection and investigative coverages.

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 83200 - 141400(CAD) CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount, and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance. Due to the nature of the role, which involves global interactions with SAP entities, as well as with employees and stakeholders in Canada, functional proficiency in English is required for positions based in the Quebec.
