Internal Security Engineer (Physical Security)

Your role at Exness:
We are looking for a Physical Security Engineer to join the Protection Division and be a part of the Internal Security team. As a Physical Security Engineer, you will be responsible for the operational and management of the security systems equipment (monitoring, maintenance, adjustment, status reporting, access management) and will also be responsible for emergency incident response (training, emergency procedures, initial checks, and alarms responding). The main goal is to support the HQ Internal Security Team and the protection division in general in performing their duties locally in Malaysia to implement the set of measures aimed at providing effective company protection throughout the enterprise
You will:
- Perform all activities related to the maintenance of security equipment, such as access control, intrusion detection systems, video surveillance, and life safety alarms in the office.
- Administrate security systems, manage access levels and user rights, oversee the issuing and assigning of access rights for access control cards or key fobs, and the decommissioning of access control cards.
- Prepare and implement access control system reports and provide video materials on the incidents.
- Provide training for employees and educate them on how to use the security systems.
- Control that all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing buildings, assist guards and security administrators with arrangements to escort visitors and contractors to highly secure areas, such as storage rooms, server rooms, etc.
- Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation, and making an initial check in case you receive information about violations or incidents.
- Communicate with the security vendors regarding payments, maintenance, and installation issues.
- Support the team in internal investigations by providing security systems log reports, video reports, and other necessary documentation.
- Complete all incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents. Draft weekly and other regular reports as prescribed by the company, division, and within the team.
- Perform other security field duties if requested by the line manager and company management.
- Manage local guards and assist with Health and Safety procedures control.
What makes you a great fit:
- 2+ years of experience in the field of physical security with experience in the maintenance of access control, intrusion, and video surveillance systems.
- Knowledge of biometrical access control systems is required.
- Proven experience and strong knowledge of low voltage systems and network principles.
- The ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors.
- Operating a computer and using software packages.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills are required.
- The ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt to changes.
- Proven international experience in various cultural and legal environments.
- Fluent in English and Malay.
- Proficiency in Chinese would be an additional asset.
