Seeking an experienced software engineer with experience in AI integration to architect and deliver large-scale AI solutions across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments, with strong expertise in cloud-native and hybrid computing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in AI/ML model development, deployment, and hosting, as well as proficiency in Python, Kubernetes, and infrastructure management. Proven leadership in both technical and team lead roles is essential, along with a deep understanding of AI use cases and the ability to build tools and frameworks for scalable enterprise applications. Experience integrating cloud and on-prem resources and driving cross-functional collaboration is highly valued. This role must have an understanding of GPU-based computing architectures and deployments of containerized AI models and microservices on CSP infrastructure and edge computing air-gapped systems.
This person will be responsible for leading technical presentations and discussions with the USCC customer and will be responsible for synergizing advancements made within this project with other JDE projects, to ensure appropriate parallel development and integration of AI models is achieved.
Technical Background Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar
- Experience programming in Python, R, or Matlab
- Experience with Machine Learning (ML) and Large Language Models (LLM)
- Experience programmatically interacting with cloud (e.g.: Amazon Web Service (AWS), Microsoft Azure) services and products (bonus would be experience leveraging CSP AI services (e.g., Bedrock, Azure OpenAI Service)
- Experience with GenAI tools and models, such as, spaCy, NLTK, Gensim, ChatGPT, huggingface, or BERT
- In depth understanding of AI protocols and standards (e.g., MCP)
- Experience enabling frontier models for multiple use cases (vibe coding, API-backed app development, multimodal and agentic workflows)
- Experience with design and implementation strategy around AI API gateways and an understanding of the services required to support enterprise development (FinOps, MLOps, rate limiting capabilities, etc.)
- Knowledge of running and managing local models in offline environments (e.g., deploying and using Ollama), including considerations for compute requirements and latency
- Have experience examining governance, guardrails, and policies managing AI solutions for enterprise customers
- Experience with unsupervised learning models, foundational modeling, and/or prompt engineering
- Experience presenting to clients or other decision makers to present and sell ideas to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
Additional Requirements
- Active TS/SCI w/CI Poly
- Available to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD a minimum 3 days per week
- This person will be responsible for breaking out tasking into 2-weeks sprints, planning work based on customer timeframes, and will need to ensure the rest of the team is organized and delivers on time
- This person will be required to present and discuss their technological solutions to key stakeholders and maintain an active strategic technical dialogue with the customer leadership
- Familiarity with the Cyber Operations Domain
- Familiarity with Cross-Domain Solution (CDS) dataflows, schemas, and operations
- Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework
