Red Hat is seeking an AI-enthusiastic People Manager to lead the Product Security Operations team. This role oversees daily operations and strategic initiatives across critical functions including global security governance, customer support, data science, and training. The ideal candidate is a seasoned people leader with cybersecurity and program management expertise, capable of supervising program managers, guiding a globally dispersed team, and building key relationships to drive significant company security objectives and strengthen the team's role within Red Hat. As Manager, you will work closely with the other managers within Product Security, as well as with partners and stakeholders from Red Hat Operations, Marketing, Products and Global Engineering teams. You will assist your team by helping them set up goals and milestones that will guide the team to success.

What you will do:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of a team of security professionals, both junior and senior-level, who are responsible for driving execution to protect customers from meaningful security concerns in our products.

  • Perform one-on-one performance and coaching sessions with all team members on a regular basis.

  • Communicate and translate vision/strategy to staff; responsible for executing on functional and business goals for the team.

  • Help manage the backlog of work and prioritize with senior leadership.

  • Drive organizational maturity through the adoption and advocacy of AI and automation.

  • Act as an agent of change to adopt and promote the Red Hat culture.

  • Emphasize a strong customer focus throughout the organization

  • Collaborate closely with leadership peers to deliver expected results.

  • Rapid response to escalations and security events, works well under pressure.

  • Hire new people and retain key talent.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated people management, coaching and conflict resolution skills

  • Previous commercial experience in a software engineering environment as part of a technology-oriented company or team

  • Ability to manage remote teams and work in globally distributed organization

  • Ability to identify potential, develop people, and motivate teams

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure

  • Proven ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with all levels of people from diverse cultural backgrounds

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

  • Ability to network and establish strong working relationships with peers across the Red Hat organization

  • Drive or participate in global Red Hat programs and operational improvements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Previous experience with security with a background in program management are a plus

  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CSSLP, CISM, PMP, PgMP or similar are a plus

The salary range for this position is $164,850.00 - $271,910.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
