Cyber Security Product Architect 

Division – Data, Technology and Innovation- Technology 

Department – Technology Resilience 

Salary - National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £72,100 to £117,100 and London from £79,300 to £128,800 per annum (salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

The team 

The Product Architect role is part of the Product Group and plays a critical role in shaping the overall architecture and service design of the group’s offerings. This includes developing and maintaining the technical product roadmap, ensuring architectural decisions and technical designs align with enterprise-wide strategies, standards and integration patterns. The role also involves providing quality assurance and governance over key architectural deliverables, such as systems engineering documents, to maintain consistency and technical integrity. You will work closely with engineering, security and platform teams to drive innovation while ensuring robust, scalable and compliant solutions. 

What will you be doing? 

  • Shaping product roadmaps, including defining scope, prioritization and delivery timelines, while addressing solution design and technical debt 

  • Producing technology and service architecture solutions aligned with enterprise product strategies and ensuring they pass through Design Authorities, considering capacity, ITSCM, data governance, security and licensing 

  • Reviewing and quality assuring artefacts from external suppliers and internal teams, ensuring alignment with business and non-functional requirements 

  • Identifying opportunities for product innovation, shaping design proposals and driving business benefits aligned with the product roadmap 

  • Supporting integration and functional testing to ensure business acceptance criteria and risk management, including security, licensing and capacity risks 

  • Leading and mentoring within communities of practice, providing thought leadership and building architectural capabilities across the organisation

Which skills are required?

Minimum 

  • Extensive experience as an architect in cloud infrastructure and/or cybersecurity, with a proven ability to develop strategies, roadmaps and architectural delivery plans for large-scale projects 

  • Strong background in applying formal architectural methodologies and frameworks 

  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end project or product delivery using established development methodologies such as Prince2, RUP, Scrum or Agile 

Essential 

  • SABSA or TOGAF certification

  • Strong understanding of Zero Trust strategy and its implementation 

  • Familiarity with Attack Surface Management, Threat Detection and Response, Cloud Infrastructure and Information Security 

  • Knowledge of Zero Trust, Extended Detection Response, and Secure Service Edge  

  • Ability to quickly understand and align with the organisation’s business drivers and core processes 

  • Proven ability to adapt to and integrate technical knowledge with business needs effectively
