Use your technical knowledge of DevSecOps in a fast-growing company where you can have an impact. The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is currently seeking Technology Operations (DevSecOps) co-op student/intern for the Fall 2025 & Winter 2026 work terms (September to April) to provide technical expertise across several DevSecOps initiatives, including the creation of CI/CD pipelines, integration and automated deployment of power platform solutions. Development of workflow automations and new development of apps and flows.

The Technology Operations (DevSecOps) co-op/intern will work within our Technology department. This is a great opportunity for you to learn and apply your knowledge to support the development and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, workflow automation and automated testing.  You will be joining a newly formed team with a primary focus on DevSecOps activities in addition to development work with low-code workflow automation tools.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be part of a team of eight professionals with a broad range of experience and expertise.  Platform administrators for several mission critical applications that provides secondary support in addition to development within the platforms.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Work under the supervision of the DevSecOps Manager to assist with various projects

  • Low code development of small to medium sized tasks

  • Creation of automation flows and productivity apps within power platform

  • Implementation of deployment pipelines with a focus on automation

  • Champion the practice of CI/CD as well as automated testing of code

  • Documentation of onboarding process as well as enhancing existing documentation of team practices

  • Research best of breed software and tools that will help advance DevSecOps at BCI

  • Conduct surveys of existing deployment practices and seek out ways to streamline the processes and automate where possible

  • Ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the team

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • A fundamental knowledge of basic business and investment-related disciplines is essential

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, excellent product quality, and attention to detail

  • Has an interest in investment management, a dedication to hard work, commitment to the highest ethical standards, and an eagerness to learn

  • Strong research skills combined with analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to use Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

  • Familiarity with Bloomberg would be an asset

  • Competitive pay: $2,330.00 gross bi-weekly or $2,155.00 gross bi-weekly + vacation leave paid based on 6% of salary ($2,330.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) a graduate degree or joining the Investment Strategy & Risk department and $2,155.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate)

  • Travel: if coming to Victoria for this work term, BCI will provide a fixed-rate travel allowance based on your location

  • Spend your off hours exploring beautiful Victoria and Vancouver Island

  • All co-ops/internships will need to be completed in person at our Victoria office with the option to work one day per week from home. Please note, some positions are not eligible for hybrid work.
