DevSecOps Engineer

The Opportunity:

DevSecOps engineering requires a specific mix of development, security, engineering, and communication skills. As a DevSecOps engineer, you know that these skills create efficiency and effectiveness—so you can quickly deliver the best solutions for clients. We’re looking for a DevSecOps engineer like you to help develop critical tools and get them into the hands of those who need them most.  

As a DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll streamline the software development lifecycle, from requirements to monitoring in production. You’ll incorporate open-source tools, automation, and cloud resources to cut down on tedious tasks and free up the team’s developers to do what they do best—create. You’ll work with the team to implement continuous integration and delivery to limit manual testing and troubleshooting solutions for the DoD and Air Force. You Have:  

  • 5+ years of experience in the development of tools and processes to drive DevOps or DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments   
  • 5+ years of experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps
  • 4+ years of experience deploying containerized applications using Docker and orchestrating them with Kubernetes or OpenShift  
  • 4+ years of experience managing infrastructure as code using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation 
  • 3+ years of experience implementing DevSecOps practices such as automated testing, security scanning, artifact signing, and compliance as code  
  • 3+ years of experience configuring centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting systems, including ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or Engineering
  • Security+ or DoD 8140 Certification

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience triaging and resolving issues related to both open-source and commercial tools in public cloud environments   
  • Experience automating CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins or GitLab   
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Linux Shell Script   

Clearance:  
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
