The Asia Delivery Services—MITDC team has the mandate to ensure we deliver business and IT initiatives that enable Manulife’s regional strategic vision. We work globally across the different segments in Manulife, partnering with country business units to develop business solutions that deliver value to our distributors and customers. We are involved in projects across multi-channel business and technology-based initiatives, and the work will accordingly involve extensive stakeholder management and collaboration across multiple functional teams.

The Data Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data loss prevention strategies to protect sensitive information from accidental or intentional exposure. This role is part of the Global Data Loss Prevention Team and involves collaboration with various departments to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and to safeguard the organization's data assets.

We are looking for someone with:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or DLP-specific certifications) are a plus.
• Proven experience in data loss prevention, information security, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and industry best practices.
• Experience with DLP tools and technologies, such as Microsoft Purview. Experience in additional DLP platform systems would be a plus (e.g., zScaler, Symantec DLP, McAfee DLP, Forcepoint).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

You will stand out if you have:  

• Experience in platform management and optimization of DLP tools.
• Familiarity with network security, encryption technologies, and access control mechanisms.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for security operations.
• Experience in PowerApp, Power Automate, and PowerBI.

On the job you will: 

• Develop, implement, and maintain data loss prevention policies and procedures to protect sensitive data across the organization.
• Monitor and analyze the organization’s data flows to detect and prevent unauthorized data access or transfer.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, and business units to ensure DLP strategies align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Configure and manage DLP tools and technologies, ensuring they are effectively integrated into the existing IT infrastructure.
• Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on data protection policies and best practices.
• Investigate and respond to data loss incidents, ensuring appropriate documentation and reporting.
• Stay informed of the latest DLP trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements to continuously improve DLP strategies.
