Role Overview

Coupang is looking for a Taiwan-based Principal Privacy Specialist to join our Information Security and Privacy organization. This role requires a broad breadth of practical experience who are capable of diving deep into tactical assessments and reviews that involve personal information protection and regulatory requirements, ensuring identification and mitigation of privacy and security risks that may arise in connection with Coupang Taiwan's various businesses and operations. As a privacy expert, the role will work closely with Legal, Engineering, Product Management, and other departments to ensure alignment with privacy regulations in various operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage various documents related to personal information protection, including policies, standards, guidelines, inventories, privacy notices and consent letters.
• Lead privacy review and assessments of new initiatives, empowering service and product launch in Taiwan; Review legal compliance related to personal information protection from a personal information life-cycle perspective.
• Improve and manage internal processes related to personal information processing.
• Partner with Taiwan Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Information Security Officer to respond inquiries from regulatory agencies (e.g., MODA), including handling personal information infringement incidents and civil complaints handling.
• Lead Coupang Taiwan company-wide privacy and security training and awareness initiatives.
• Support privacy and security certification programs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related area.
• More than 8 years of experience in privacy compliance, legal, or data protection roles, preferably within a multinational or regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of Taiwan privacy law and regulations.
• Ability to review and provide guidance on privacy compliance issues.
• Passion for taking initiative and solving problems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address project-related challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Holds privacy related certifications or licenses, e.g., ISMS-P etc.
• Master or Doctoral degree in the field of privacy information protection or information security.
• Bilingual in Taiwanese Mandarin and English is preferred.
