The IT Operations team is based at Tiger Court, Knowsley and consists of 4 teams of 4 people working 12 hour shifts on a 24-hour basis. Shifts start and end at 7am or 7pm and the roles require working 2 weekends out of 4.
Role Purpose:
- Monitor all Allwyn I.T. systems round the clock including Infrastructure, Networks, Storage systems, Applications and Batch processing to identify problems or delays and to take appropriate corrective actions.
- Work with InfoSec team to manage and monitor Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems and to provide round the clock monitoring of the Allwyn Networks for potential Cyber-attacks. Analyse Security breaches for root cause.
- Work in conjunction with external auditors and internal Allwyn Draw and Broadcast teams to conduct the Lottery Draws with Integrity and to publish Results with accuracy.
- Provide central system Operation for the EuroMillions draws in Live and test scenarios.
- Conduct a wide and diverse range of other duties and responsibilities to support the business.
Role Responsibilities:
- Monitor the processing and functioning of the following components of the Lottery Infrastructure: ES suite of applications, ICS, retailer channel, interactive channel, EPOS Fastpay channel, network, back office databases and hardware.
- Management of network, intrusion detection and prevention systems.
- Monitor, investigate and escalate suspicious activity on the Website.
- In line with Allwyn’s standards of Operational Excellence, ensure that all Operations documentation is accurate and up to date and followed strictly to the letter.
- Investigate and resolve any problems or irregularities across all the entire IT Infrastructure.
Key Measures of Success:
- Ensure service levels to our external customers and internal business users are maintained to highest standards providing minimum availability of 99.6%, per annum across all regulated systems.
- Ensure that the UK National Lottery Computer Operations functions are managed, 24 hrs per day, 365 days per year in a secure, reliable, resilient way in line with Allwyn’s standards of Operational Excellence.
- Identify potential Security breaches, with immediate escalation to InfoSec team and participation in corrective actions being implemented.
- Manage the standards and availability for all IT Services
- Manage the service delivery and effective performance of Operation 24x7 Data Centres, Networks and Service Management.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of running lottery systems
- Knowledge of the ES system and its component sub-systems
- At least one experience of AIX operating system
- Experience of using Server, Application or Network Management tools
- Experience of using an automated scheduling package
- Experience and knowledge of Information Security principles and management of Network, Intrusion Detection and Prevention systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Troubleshooting skills
- Working as part of a team.
