What you will do:

We are currently looking for an Intermediate Cyber Security Analyst to join our Digital and Technology team here at Cineplex. This exciting role reports directly to the Director of Cyber Security.

As the Intermediate Cyber Security Analyst, you must have a strong background in information security with a clear understanding of the challenges of the cyber security ecosystem.  The role involves executing tasks to protect assets from unauthorized access, modification, or destruction, while also contributing to the development and modernization of IT security policies and standards.

The Intermediate Cyber Security Analyst serves as a point of escalation to junior or peer analysts. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address security risks. A key aspect of this position is building understanding and awareness of security issues across the organization. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as strong teamwork abilities, to develop security solutions in collaboration with other information technology professionals.

This is a hybrid position. Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently triage security incidents to assess their business impact and urgency, prioritizing and addressing those with the greatest impact on the organization.
  • Respond promptly to support active incidents.
  • Continuously analyze current and ongoing incidents to identify improvements to knowledge base, business processes, training, and application features.
  • Keep technology stakeholders informed of changes to their platforms that may impact regular operations.
  • Support the execution of information security audits, whether performed by organization or third-party personnel.
  • Conduct training for information security personnel during onboarding.
  • Evaluate the current technology architecture to identify vulnerabilities and areas for potential upgrades or improvements.
  • Implement and oversee technological upgrades and significant changes to the information security environment.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective communication on security issues.
  • Effectively communicate information security goals and new initiatives to department managers across the organization.
  • Promptly escalate issues in a timely and appropriate manner that threaten the security posture or operational stability.
  • Provide guidance and support to Junior Cyber Security Analysts.

Education & Certification

  • University / College degree in IT security or a related course of study is required
  • Master’s degree in IT Security or related field is considered an asset
  • Professional Accreditation in IT Security or related certifications considered an asset: CISSP, CCSP, CRISC, CCSK, GCIH, GCFA

Experience

  • 2-4+ Years of experience in a relevant role
  • Proven track record in working with internal and external team members while meeting tight timelines
  • General knowledge of PCI standards and ITGC (Information Technology General Controls)
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset

  • Must be able to support ongoing projects in conjunction with daily operations.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to manage assigned tasks within the team.
  • Must have the ability to methodically troubleshoot technical security issues.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have flexibility with respect to working hours.
  • Ability to travel may be required.
  • A self-learner who loves and can pick up new technologies.
  • Someone who is focused on the Guest Experience - committed to delivering client satisfaction though effective communication.
  • A tenacious strategist, an organizer – always comes prepared and offers a "can do" attitude.
