This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

HII Mission Technologies Corporation supports the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) in developing, implementing, and executing product logistics, sustainment, and acquisition of Advanced Digital Electronics across the portfolio of Department of Defense (DoD) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems.
We are seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to work within DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) Cloud environments, as well as afloat instances to include the Horizon Development infrastructure. This is an onsite role with the NIWC PAC team located in San Diego, CA (Point Loma).
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
• Monitor Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and submit STIG release reports
• Participate and sometimes lead in the development of engineering documents
• Develop mitigations to identified vulnerabilities and system configurations
• Design, develop, test, and evaluate information system solutions, architectures, and security throughout the system life cycle
• Handle the full range of security issues, including network and system architectures
• Design cybersecurity architectural artifacts, provide analysis, and relate existing system to future needs
• Provide engineering recommendations and resolve integration/test issues
• Participate in Program level meetings, to include Configuration Management Boards, Bi-Weekly and Monthly meetings
• Participate in Information Technology (IT) systems Verification and Validation events
• Lead Security Engineer engaging with the Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer (DON CIO) Programs Cyber Security Lead and other Intelligence Community (IC) accrediting authorities
• Participate in research and development (R&D) efforts that align to the technical roadmap
• Participate in the development and/or review of Statements of Work (SOW) and other bodies of evidence
• Provide status reports upon request
Requirements: I have already done that or have it!
• 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience
• U.S. citizen
• Active Top Secret clearance
• DoD 8570 Information Assurance (IA) relevant certification, or able to obtain certification within first 6 months
• Linux Operating Systems experience
• Knowledge of the IC Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
• Ability to research and adapt new technologies for integration
• Ability to work in a small team environment and be proactive
• Strong analytical/problem solving capabilities
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe desktop applications
Preferred Requirements
• Cloud infrastructure knowledge
• Understanding of DoD processes including security evaluation and acquisition processes
• Experience with existing DoD Programs of Record (POR) and Program Manager, Warfare (PMW) organizational structure

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
