DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Journeyman Computer Hardware Engineer to join our team on an upcoming contract to support the Unites States Coast Guard USCG) Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) Information Systems Division (ISD) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The USCG ALC ISD provides development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) IT support for products and services for the Coast Guard Information Officer (CIO), Commandant, and Coast Guard Cyber Command through a geo-dispersed workforce including military, civilians, an contractor personnel committed to supporting the USCG’s missions and requirements of the leading growing interconnectivity, increased reliance on data and networks, and development of commercial space and artificial intelligence systems.
Position is on-site with off-site capabilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Journeyman Computer Hardware Engineer include:
- Research, design, develop, or test computer or computer related equipment for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use.
- May supervise the manufacturing and installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components.
- Review computer systems in terms of machine capabilities and man-machine interface.
- Prepare reports and studies concerning hardware.
- Prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions.
- Ensure that problems have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user's requirements.
- Create and update documents such as SOPs, user guides, security, and performance logs.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of software and hardware entitlements and deployments needed to continuously monitor license compliance.
- Review new software and hardware requests to ensure license availability.
- Track, Reconcile and monitor software and hardware inventory and utilization.
- Collect data and report on the software and hardware asset management processes.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, or related field or at a minimum IT Certification.
- Note: Two (2) years' experience is equivalent to one (1) year of education.
- Two (2) years’ experience review and management of software lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing and a positive customer service attitude.
- Two (2) years of interpreting license contracts end user license agreements, terms and conditions.
- Minimum One (1) year of IT software lifecycle processes, procurement, discovery, and management.
- One (1) year of experience with using ITSM Tools such as Remedy Help Desk or ServiceNow.
- Experience providing root cause analysis and technical support.
- One (1) year of experience in Agile DevSecOps software and engineering environment and Methodologies.
- One (1) year of experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket or equivalent.
