Position : Staff Security Engineer 

Coupang is looking for Taiwan-based Staff Security Engineers to join our Information Security team supporting businesses in Taiwan and Japan. This role requires a technical expert with a broad breadth of security experience who likes to dive deep into tactical requirements and implementations as much as they enjoy developing and driving technical security projects. As a security expert, the role will work closely with Privacy, Legal, Engineering, Product Management, and other departments to secure internal practices and operations while protecting customer trust and empowering Coupang Taiwan’s business growth from a security perspective.

What will you do? 

• Drive security review and assessments of new initiatives, empowering service and product launch in Taiwan.
• Lead Cougang Taiwan-wide security initiatives to raise the security bar at scale and further influence other organizations within Coupang.
• Proactively identify and dive deep into possible security gaps and issues, addressing root causes and safeguarding data and business practices.
• Assist in Incident Response, Insider Threat Investigations, Threat Intelligence Response, Vulnerability Mitigation, Risk Management, Third-Party Security Assessment, etc. with security engineering partners within the Global Information Security organization.
• Work closely with other IT professionals, and data and product owners to ensure that data security is integrated into all aspects of Coupang Taiwan’s operations.
• Decompose complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions, providing mechanisms for the teams to prioritize ruthlessly and “move with urgency”.
• Collaborate with other Coupang tech leaders to make service extensible to unlock opportunities for innovations.

Essential Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in related area, e.g., Computer Science or Information Security.
• Deep level of technical understanding and experience in the security space, especially in the field of data protection and the defensive side of security engineering.
• More than 8 years of experience in security engineering, including practical experience in leading large scale security solutions involving cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address project-related challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Holds security related certifications or licenses, e.g., OSCP, CISSP, CISM etc.
• Master degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Security.
• Bilingual in Taiwanese Mandarin and English is preferred.
