ABOUT THE TEAMThe Information Security team is responsible for activities ranging from governance to security operations. Its main functions include the following:
Governance and strategic planning
Culture and raising awareness
Counsel, architecture and risk management
Delivery of security mechanisms
Security operations
Insurance in terms of security
The scope of the team extends to the heart of the security mission via counsel and implementation on the evaluation of cyber risks in PSP’s investments. The organization’s support towards information security allowed PSP to build a strong team, mature processes and a modern technology portfolio in the past few years.
ABOUT YOUR ROLEAs an Intern, Information Security, you’ll:
Monitor, review and evaluate security events to identify and respond to potential security incidents
Carry out requests and tasks of the operational security and delivery team
Participate in the activities relating to vulnerability management, security assessments, application security, as well as continuous management and improvement of security platforms
Suggest improvements and optimization for playbooks, platform solution, process, etc.
Participate in implementing a comprehensive set of incident response workflows, including automation
Analyze application vulnerabilities and recommend possible solutions to fix vulnerabilities
Perform investigation through log aggregation tools to answer analytical questions
Participate in security initiatives in order to improve PSP’s security posture and the maturity of our processes
Collaborate with other teams to improve PSP’s security posture
PSP is already well established in terms of cloud-based services and is accelerating this migration, which represents an opportunity to develop your knowledge and have a strong understanding of these environments
Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master in IT or IT Security related program
Knowledge of security concepts, mechanisms and processes
Knowledge of different security tools to protect an organization (SIEM, EDR, XDR, etc)
Knowledge of code repositories, from the fundamentals to best practices
Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
Proficiency in various programming languages
Hands-on practical experience (personal or corporate initiatives) with some of the security mechanisms, tools, processes
Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy
Demonstrated initiative, curiosity and eagerness to learn
Factual and solution-oriented
Ability to work collaboratively and be open-minded
Strong analytics and technical skills
Effective communications skills, both written and spoken
Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum
