Salary - London £57,700 to £88,600 per annum (salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

The team

The Security Engineer sits within the Cyber Security Product Group and maintains the platforms, applications and security systems that deliver enterprise security services to the organisation.

What will you be doing?

  • Design, deploy and maintain scalable and reliable enterprise security tools and services

  • Enhance and adapt security processes and systems to align with evolving business and strategic needs

  • Ensure the protection of information systems by developing and maintaining security procedures and controls

  • Act as a security subject matter expert, supporting incident response, problem management and risk mitigation

  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of new security solutions, ensuring operational readiness and supportability

  • Provide coaching and SME guidance to security teams, product groups and participate in on-call support when needed

Which skills are required?

Minimum

  • Prior experience in a security engineering role, supporting enterprise-level security services, products and architecture

  • Experience of cyber security principles, backed by a relevant and recognised certification industry or product related (e.g., CISSP, CISM)

Essential

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, engineering standards and architectural typologies

  • Solid technical security knowledge across various architectures, platforms and industry practices

  • Proven experience with information security principles, tools and operational procedures

  • Familiarity with key security frameworks such as NIST and CIS

  • Effective collaboration skills with both internal teams and external IT partners

  • Strong communication abilities and experience coaching others in security best practices

Desirable

  • Experience in the financial services industry and understanding of its security landscape

  • Proficiency in scripting, automation and multiple programming languages

  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, infrastructure and security considerations

  • Familiarity with service design and transition processes in enterprise environments
