A&L Goodbody is looking to recruit a Cloud Infrastructure & Security Engineer to join our Core Infrastructure team within a growing IT Department.

The IT Department is made of up the following teams: Core Infrastructure, Information Security, Service Desk, DevOps and is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of technology services to over 1000 users globally.

The Core Infrastructure team is responsible for management, support, maintenance, monitoring and securing of all core IT systems including compute, storage, networking and identity for cloud, physical and virtual technologies. There is also a significant workload relating to the effective, efficient and secure management of IaaS and SaaS services for the business with a Zero Trust approach.

This role will provide an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Cloud Infrastructure & Security Engineer to work as part of a highly dynamic team responsible for mission critical cloud and branch IT infrastructure. This role will have a mix of operational and project duties with a 24x7 on call rotation.

Technology investment and digitisation are priorities for the business and so in this role you will be working with the very latest technologies in the areas of cloud, virtualisation, networking, security, remote access and more.

An important part of the role will be managing relationships with critical IT suppliers and ensuring delivery of service level agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, support and secure the core systems in the IT Infrastructure and Security – Microsoft/M365/Azure full stack, Zscaler, Cisco, Check Point, Backup, SCCM, Defender, among others on a day to day operational basis
  • Proactively monitor, maintain and prevent any potential issue or disruption to the business
  • Provide high quality, responsive and consistent resolutions to IT Incidents
  • Responsible for 3rd party supplier management and ensuring they meet agreed SLA’s
  • Escalation and liaising with relevant 3rd party providers on issue resolution and service delivery
  • Respond, triage and take effective action to security alerts and incident
  • Daily management of backup technologies and restores
  • Responsibility for ensuring BC/DR plans are up to date, regularly tested and documented to ISO standards
  • Managing the CoreOps incident support queues activities on a day to day operational basis and ensuring all tickets are resolved/fulfilled within SLA to reduce or eliminate any disruption or impact to the business
  • Deploy and deploy new systems and services in a secure and functional method for the business requirement
  • Maintaining a core IT infrastructure inventory
  • Regular patching, updating and securing of core technology systems
  • Handling escalations from Service Desk and other IT teams via the ticketing system
  • Liaising with the Service Desk Manager to keep business informed of business service affecting issues
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures relating to core systems
  • Participate in regular Infrastructure on-call rotation for business critical out of hours support and response
  • Keep abreast of continuous and evolving developments in the technology stack and threat landscape
  • Continue to develop your skills on the job through mentoring and planned self-directed training programs in the technology stack

Requirements

  • Degree or other related technical professional qualification
  • Extensive experience in a highly regulated IT environment supporting mission critical core IT services
  • Proven supplier and vendor management skills
  • Experience of adhering to and achieving/exceeding SLA’s
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment with changing priorities/deadlines
  • Azure certifications desirable
