As a key member of our information technology team, the Director, Technology Services and Security, will be responsible for the oversight of key horizontal technology services including vendor management, security, and IT operations. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)/ Vice President, Cyber and Information Security, the Director, Technology Services and Security, will lead a team of security and operations professionals in alignment with the business strategy and technology strategy. They will also be accountable for setting, monitoring and maintaining standards around vendors, and ensure comprehensive vendor management practices are in place.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Direct & own research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable on IT security practices, services and solutions to counter an evolving threat landscape.
- Regularly evaluate the cybersecurity landscape against IMCO’s high-impact threat scenarios and update the cybersecurity program, as required for daily operations.
- Own the program planning for both IT security and overall IMCO security.
- Vendor management of all partners in the IT security ecosystem all the way from application security to training to perimeter defence.
- Be our first line of consulting and advisory for strategic projects, applications development and infrastructure needs with a one IT & security lens.
- Primary point of contact for all operational issues with Cloud and Cyber managed service providers including governance, Master Service Agreements MSA’s, Statements of Work (SOW) and contractual issues and act as a thought leader SME across IMCO to drive more value across the firms from our partners.
- Act as Business Partner in the development and owning of the strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders for effective implementation of technical solutions and business outcomes.
- Owning the ITIL processes of Incident, Problem, Change, Release Management ensuring high levels of performance in these processes, accurate reporting and documentation and establishing service improvement activities when required.
- Leading the implementation, monitoring and controls framework for service delivery; ensuring systems, methodologies, policies and procedures are in place and followed in addition to addressing escalations and driving problem resolution within these service towers.
- Championing Service and Support in projects and developing a strong understanding of projects impacting your service area and ensuring service impact is minimized and agreed.
- Driving internal and third-party service review meetings covering performance, service improvements, quality and processes.
- Analyzing performance of IT service management activities, identify problem areas, and devise and deliver solutions to enhance quality of service and to prevent future problems.
- Working with internal and third-party teams to ensure actions are taken and completed to protect and improve services, while ensuring seamless delivery of operations.
- Being an ambassador for IT, working across the business to provide effective communication on IT matters and build relationships with other teams to ensure effective dialogue between departments.
- Ensuring all documentation for all projects is created and maintained to facilitate proper change controls and governance.
- Ensuring business processes and complex technical specifications are properly documented and stored in the appropriate systems maintained up to date
- Ensuring system documentation (configuration) is created and maintained up to date, including procedural manuals, training videos, best practice documents, etc.
- Tracking all vendor agreements and documentation and the measurement of vendor performance against SLAs to ensure contractual terms are met and continuous improvement.
What you need to succeed:
- 12-15+ years in progressive information technology roles with at least 5-7+ years of experience leading and directing staff members.
- Experience within the investment management industry is an asset.
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited postsecondary institution and/or relevant security certifications would be an asset.
- Prior experience creating, installing, monitoring, and enforcing vendor management KPIs.
- Prior experience researching, identifying, assessing, selecting, and onboarding new vendors.
- Excellent legal and business judgment.
- Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts and conclusions into a language applicable to the targeted audience.
- Well-established interpersonal relationship-building skills and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability and desire to ‘hit the ground running’.
- Highly motivated team player with a proven ability to manage several different priorities at one time, including under tight timelines.
