Support high-level national defense operations as a Cyber Security Engineer, Journeyman at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. In this critical role, you’ll lead cybersecurity efforts for Special Access Program (SAP) networks, ensuring compliance and safeguarding mission-critical systems against evolving threats. Your expertise will directly impact the resilience and integrity of sensitive defense information environments.

Pay: $140,000 - $146,000

Essential Duties

Cybersecurity Oversight & Compliance

  • Maintain the security, integrity, and operation of SAP networks in compliance with DoD and Air Force cybersecurity directives.
  • Ensure systems are configured and maintained in accordance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Monitor, implement, and report on security patches, IAVAs, and vulnerability advisories.

Assessment & Authorization (A&A)

  • Lead the development and submission of A&A packages under Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Create and update system security documentation, including Trusted Facility Manuals, security policies, and system architectures.
  • Track A&A status and communicate progress to customers and stakeholders.

Threat Assessment & Risk Management

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, incident response, and risk analysis on SAP networks.
  • Support the Government in identifying threats and assessing risks to ensure secure system operations.
  • Assist in executing security tests and evaluations to support comprehensive threat reporting.

Training & Technical Support

  • Deliver targeted cybersecurity training for users, system administrators, and executives.
  • Provide technical guidance to system administrators, network managers, and procurement staff on security best practices and compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Systems Security development and management.
  • Proven experience with ACAS, SCAP, XACTA, and eMASS.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks and SAP security policies.
  • Experience preparing A&A documentation and supporting RMF processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with additional DoD cybersecurity tools and compliance platforms.
  • Experience working in a SAP or SCI network environment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply DoD, Air Force, and Intelligence Community cybersecurity directives.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
    (An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.)
  • Certification: IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE)

Required Clearance

Top Secret / SCI (must be active at time of application)

Travel
