Head of Security Engineering
- Automotive Business

 

As the Head of Security Engineering, you will be vital in shaping and executing our security strategy within the CISO function, ensuring cutting-edge capabilities that keep automotive environments secure and resilient while driving innovation and business enablement. Leading a team of specialists across IAM, Cloud Security, Network Security, Application Security, IT/OT Solution Architecture, and Information Protection, you will seamlessly integrate security for both IT and OT.

 

This critical role combines strategic leadership with hands-on responsibilities, developing global security architecture, governance, and protocols. You will set the technical direction for security, manage complex technical projects, and collaborate with IT and Automotive teams to deliver tools and services aligned with our security roadmaps.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities

Security Engineering:

  • Implement and lead the security architecture and engineering strategy.
  • Establish global security protocols and ensure compliance.
  • Guide a team to build robust security blueprints and governance frameworks.
  • Integrate and innovate security technologies for global efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to meet security requirements.
  • Work with the security operations team to enhance security postures.
  • Review and benchmark security metrics and KPIs.
  • Manage the deployment of engineering projects within budget and timelines.


Security Architecture:

  • Design scalable, secure solutions aligned with industry standards.
  • Maintain the overall security architecture strategy.
  • Ensure security requirements in enterprise and IT architectures.
  • Represent Security in global engineering and architecture forums.
  • Collaborate with IT and business leaders to meet security architecture needs.


Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience as a Security Architect.
  • Proven leadership in establishing security capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, endpoint protection).
  • Proficiency in cloud, application, network security, IAM, and data loss prevention.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and regulations (e.g., TISAX, NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Ability to integrate security into business processes.
  • Relevant academic degree or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.

Some additional information

Location: For the right candidate, we are open to considering several EMEA locations within the Automotive Business scope, specifically Gothenburg (Sweden), Luton (UK), Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire (France), Schweinfurt (Germany), Houten, (Netherlands) or Airasca (Italy).
