Journeyman Information Technology Project Manager

Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Journeyman Information Technology Project Manager to join our team on an upcoming contract to support the Unites States Coast Guard USCG) Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) Information Systems Division (ISD) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The USCG ALC ISD provides development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) IT support for products and services for the Coast Guard Information Officer (CIO), Commandant, and Coast Guard Cyber Command through a geo-dispersed workforce including military, civilians, an contractor personnel committed to supporting the USCG’s missions and requirements of the leading growing interconnectivity, increased reliance on data and networks, and development of commercial space and artificial intelligence systems.

Position is on-site with off-site capabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Journeyman Information Technology Project Manager include:

• Plan, initiate, and manage IT projects.
• Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage.
• Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
• Consults with the client to ensure conformity to project and contractual obligations for, but not limited to, IT projects/initiatives.
• Must be familiar with all phases of the systems development life cycle (i.e., identification, design, development, implementation, & maintenance of automated systems).
• Assist the analysis, design and development of new systems and system enhancements.
• Approves documentation standards system specifications, feasibility and justification reports, and policy recommendations.
• Assist the development and installation of techniques and procedures to implement policy decisions with regard to organizational structures, program evaluation and productivity improvements.
• Establishes and maintains technical and financial reports in order to show progress of projects to management and customers.
• Organizes and assigns responsibilities to subordinates and oversees the successful completion of all assigned IT tasks.
• Ensures the development, maintenance and implementation of Program Management Plans and Technical Specifications Plan; documents that guide the performance of all functional and technical activities performed.
• Experience performing tasks focused on the leadership and/or task management of information systems engineering, or systems integration projects preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Computer Science, Math, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Management, or related field or at minimum IT Certification (ex.Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Note: Two (2) years' experience is equivalent to one (1) year of education.
• Two (2) years of experience providing technical direction and project management.
• One (1) year supervisory experience in addition to the two (2) years of experience listed above.
• Two (2) years' experience with change management and process improvements.
