What’s on offer?

Based in Sydney or Melbourne and reporting to the Group IT Security Manager, we are seeking a dedicated and proactive Group IT Security Analyst to become an essential part of our Group IT security team. This role is the first Australian position in the Group IT Security team, we value in-person collaboration this will involve travel to New Zealand at least once a year. This is an opportunity to play a crucial role in safeguarding our extensive IT infrastructure and valuable data. What are the key responsibilities?

As a Group IT Security Analyst at Fulton Hogan, you'll monitor and analyse our organisation’s security posture, with the backing of our trusted service providers. Your focus will include identifying security threats, performing risk assessments, and implementing robust strategies to thwart data breaches and other cyber incidents. Some of your other responsibilities will be:

  • Most of your time will be to act swiftly and decisively in the face of security breaches or cyber security incidents, collaborating closely with our security service providers and system owners to investigate, resolve, and manage incidents.
  • Assist in enhancing our cyber recovery capabilities, ensuring we are always prepared to bounce back from any incident, and participate in regular cyber security desktop exercises.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders and service providers to identify, assess, and manage cyber security incidents efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with vendors, service providers, and third-party partners, holding them accountable for the effective delivery of IT services and support.
  • Work with service providers and stakeholders to address and remediate findings from independent penetration tests and contribute to evaluating cyber threats and their potential impact.

How will you connect to the role?

We’re looking for someone with strong cyber security knowledge in complex environments, skilled in end point protection, intrusion detection, incident response, firewalls, and content filtering. A relevant tertiary qualification in technology or information management alongside ITIL Management Framework experience is preferred. You'll need proficiency in network security, system and network monitoring tools, and a broad understanding of IT industry trends. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure, are critical. Identifying self-development opportunities, adapting to changing priorities, and maintaining a calm demeanour are key to thriving in this role.
