The Principal Domain Architect role is responsible for driving the integration of pioneering technologies in the design of highly complex technology solutions within a specific domain, while considering business goals, technical feasibility, and long-term scalability. The incumbent will provide strategic direction, training and mentoring to various stakeholders across the business in the IT-aligned business functional areas using their deep expertise in their specific domain. The role will define and lead the architecture and development of solutions aligned with the overall business and technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring business functional outcomes are achieved and the architectural runway is in place at the functional level. The incumbent will advocate and drive collaboration among stakeholders and various communities of practice to understand business needs and implement the best solutions to meet their needs, while ensuring alignment with overall IT strategy and roadmap.

  • Define and drive the integration architecture designs that are aligned to the organization’s business goals (e.g., speed, reliability, scalability) 
  • Develop and leverage expertise in domain-driven design principals to improve upon conceptual and logical models and advocate for their organization-wide adoption in adherence to architectural principles, policies, standards, and frameworks
  • Create detailed execution plans to implement recommendations for solution designs and ensure consistency and compliance with architecture principles, policies, standards, and frameworks 
  • Introduce industry differentiators to refine and support business strategies and execution models by providing insights on how updated end to end delivery capabilities can drive business goals
  • Advocate and drive collaboration among various stakeholders across the business, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of architectural principles, policies, standards, and frameworks in a unified manner
  • Using technical expertise, develop training opportunities to empower technical teams in support of the implementation of solution design
  • Drive and foster strategic communications regarding technical considerations and impacts to stakeholders helping them understand implications in detail
  • Maintain and leverage strong business networks to ensure ongoing alignment between business operations and IT strategy 
  • Proactively contribute and influence the development of the overall IT strategy and roadmap, proposing innovative solutions that drive business goals
  • Propose and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to help the organization maintain a competitive advantage, driving innovation within the organization
  • Create a standardized reference architecture for cloud/application deployment including: establishing standardized patterns, developing reusable components that can be applied across various projects, providing clear instructions for the application of these standardized architectures and patterns

This position has a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and the option for working remotely two days.

Education

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in lieu of a degree, at least 15 years of experience in IT

Preferred

  • TOGAF Level 2, CISSP, CEAP, CSA, CSEA


Knowledge and Experience

Required

  • 12-14 years of experience in the specific domain and designing solutions
  • Proven track record in designing and architecting complex systems at the functional or enterprise level 
  • Expertise in technology integration and the design of interfaces between systems 
  • Expertise in Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) 
  • Proven track record in working with enterprise application integration and service-oriented architecture
  • In-depth expertise in cloud providers and modern architectures (i.e., microservices, serverless, containerization, etc.) 
  • Extensive knowledge of existing and emerging enterprise architecture principles, policies, standards, and frameworks 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills 

Preferred

  • 6-8 years of experience with Azure, AWS or Oracle Cloud products
  • 5+ years developing or architecting IT/OT systems in a complex Manufacturing ecosystem, spanning capabilities such as ERP, MES / PLM, PLC / SCADA, CMMS, and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing business processes across supply chain, operations, quality, and engineering.
  • Experience with stream processing, event driven architecture, and real-time data architectures is a plus
