Title: Senior Tax Manager
Location: Herndon, VA - Onsite 1-2 days per week


Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Tax Senior Manager will be responsible for tax department leadership, including tax strategy, federal and state tax compliance, tax provision and tax planning. This will include management of international tax compliance. Ideal candidate will have exceptional financial and business acumen, a tax leader with experience strong commercial judgment, creativity, and proven leadership. Reporting to Chief Accounting Officer.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead tax strategy, assessing the tax impact of strategic initiatives, and driving tax decision-making that improves shareholder value. Some of the major responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a leader in building, maintaining, and leveraging close working relationships with internal partners, including executive management, financial reporting, accounting, treasury, legal, HR and business operations
  • Manage external tax advisors and vendors relationships
  • Lead, mentor and direct the tax analyst
  • Manage and develop tax leadership members globally, encouraging collaborative team atmosphere and with cross functional teams in Finance
  • Oversee all aspects of quarterly and annual financial reporting for income tax and manage worldwide GGAP tax provision, tax reserves (ASC 740 and ASC 450). Implement and sustain “best practices” for internal controls for tax provisions
  • Own related process narratives and internal controls ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404
  • Provide strategic and execution guidance on transfer pricing and its policies and related documents as required in all jurisdictions where the Company operates
  • Lead automation and digital transformation for the Tax department in areas including sales and use tax and VAT
  • Manage compliance tax matters including assisting with employment tax and indirect tax questions from Finance  
  • Lead legal entity rationalization and participate in acquisition strategy for new acquisitions
  • Represent the Tax function on internal committees supporting new products and jurisdictions to ensure tax compliance policies are considered.

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or Tax related discipline, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, economics or a related field
  • CPA
  • 8-10+ years’ experience with tax planning, research, and compliance
  • 5+ years’ managing multiple, direct reports
  • 4+ years of public accounting experience
  • Experience with M&A due diligence and integration, and structuring transactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in accounting or taxation, LLM or comparable advanced degree
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 740 is highly desirable
  • Prior tax controversy experience
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills to convey complex matters with simplicity and clarity to non-experts across the organization
  • Ethical team player; always maintains the highest degree of integrity

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is:

$165,500.00-202,699.00 USD

The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs. In addition to a base salary and bonus plans, Everfox offers a generous benefits package including flexible PTO, a 401k match, and contribution to healthcare coverages.
