Cloud Engineer (TS/SCI Clearance Required)

North Point Technology is looking for a TS/SCI cleared Cloud Engineer to assist with the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of mission critical systems.

This program requires employees to have an active TS clearance with and SCI or the ability to obtain an SCI post hire and must pass a CI Poly every 5 years.  If you have a Full Scope Poly, working this program will keep your Full Scope ACTIVE.

Position Overview

North Point Technology is seeking a driven AWS Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and sustain mission-critical, cloud-based software solutions. You’ll help shape secure architectures, streamline deployments, and ensure 99.9% uptime across multiple environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Secure – Collaborate on AWS system designs, driving ATO compliance and hardening.

• Requirement Analysis – Review system needs through a cyber-security lens; offer configuration recommendations.

• Best-Practice Integration – Capture lessons learned and embed industry standards into new designs.

• Pipeline & Ops Support – Maintain CI/CD workflows, triage outages, resolve integration issues, and support developer testing.

• Service Management – Deploy and monitor EC2, S3, Lambda, OpenShift (PaaS), ensuring high availability.

• Data & Metrics – Orchestrate data movement, track cost/utilization dashboards, and optimize resource use.

• Change Validation – Execute end-to-end testing, validate government system changes, and author design/validation docs.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proficiency across AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, Terraform) and OpenShift.

• Hands-on with DevOps toolchain: GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Zabbix, HP Fortify, ACAS.

• Strong Linux & Windows administration, plus container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).

• Solid grasp of software development lifecycles, code baseline management, and DevSecOps principles.

• Excellent communicator and collaborative problem-solver.

• Bachelor’s in CS/IT or equivalent; active TS/SCI clearance (Poly-eligible).

Preferred Qualifications

• IC/DoD cloud architecture experience (e.g., NGA ATO processes).

• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).

• DoD 8570 IAT Level 2/3 compliance; NGA Privileged User Account.

• Familiarity with aeronautical datasets and SFA mission requirements.

• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and participating in Analysis of Alternatives.

Work Schedule

• Mon, Wed, Fri – Work from Home

• Tue – St. Louis, MO office or NGA 2nd Street

• Thu – O’Fallon, IL office

• As Needed – Customer site at NGA 2nd Street (≈2 days/week)
