Engineer- Information Security

About our group:

This Information Security Engineer position is in the Infosec Operations team at Seagate. This group works across different areas such as network security, endpoint detection and response, cloud security, and threat hunting. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the field of information security, compliance, and security awareness. This position particularly is a part of the Firewall Operations and Engineering team within the Information Security organization.

About the role - you will:

• Process requests submitted through our ticketing system. and communicate with requestors, business units, security and other teams to address issues
• Ensure change control process followed by all stakeholders
• Maintain and monitor associated infrastructure including the installation and configuration of hardware and software upgrades and updates
• Perform audits of firewall rule configurations and process any changes as determined
• Participate in projects and programs where your skills and talent are needed

About you:

• Entry level position for a recent graduate obtaining a degree in an area associated with information security and networks
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• A proactive approach to identifying challenges and proposing practical solutions
   

Your experience includes:

• A working knowledge of next generation network firewalls
• Familiarity with security concepts, compliance frameworks, data extraction, manipulation, analysis, data visualization tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel)
• A genuine interest in cybersecurity and learning about security best practices and compliance standards
• Ability to translate complex security concepts into clear, digestible content for non-technical employees
