Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator 3 to support our critical DoD mission partner at Fort Meade, MD. This role in a high-stakes CYBER organization demands a TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly and strong systems management and cybersecurity skills.

 

About this Role

You will maintain and secure mission-critical systems and networks, ensuring seamless operations for global initiatives. Your expertise in system configurations, incident resolution, and regulatory compliance will be essential to our team’s success.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

• System Operations: Administer day-to-day operations, including configurations, upgrades, and patches of servers and networks.

• Cybersecurity Management: Enforce security protocols and monitor system vulnerabilities in a classified environment.

• Incident Response: Quickly diagnose issues and drive effective resolutions to minimize downtime.

• Collaboration & Documentation: Work with cross-functional teams and maintain accurate system documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

• IAT Level 2 Certification Required

  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA CySA+
  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Associate
  • Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)

• Proven experience in systems administration and network security within mission-critical environments.

• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly.

Preferred Requirements

• IAT Level 3 Certification:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
  • GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC)
• Previous DoD or government environment experience.
• Other advanced certifications (e.g., RHCE, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity threat detection and risk mitigation.

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline.
