You will drive technical strategy, support sales efforts, and shape product evolution by addressing customer challenges and market trends.  Occasional travel, up to 20%, may be required.In this role, you will:
  • Develop expert knowledge of Progress products to develop and present unique solutions, and maintain knowledge of emerging trends in related technology areas
  • Lead technical presentations in person and assist sales directors with ROI discussions.
  • Conduct compelling product demonstrations online and in-person.
  • Execute proof of concept technical installations directly with customers.
  • Develop architectural designs, ensuring scalability, integration, and maintainability.
  • Design data models and tiered storage strategies to optimize performance and compliance.
  • Define and implement database tuning methodologies for enterprise applications.
  • Leverage DevOps, containerization, and automation to streamline deployments.
  • Collaborate with sales to develop winning strategies and new solution opportunities.
  • Translate technical requirements between customers and engineering teams.
  • Align solution designs with enterprise architecture standards and security policies.
  • Provide input and feedback to engineering teams and development
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Design and implement enterprise-level solutions technical solutions to meet customer’s business, technical, and/or financial goals focusing on scalability, integration, and maintainability
  • Partner with the Sales team to develop requirements documents, presentations, proposals, and ROI models.
  • Leverage a team of support specialists, consultants, and project managers to execute sales objectives or to ensure that all pre-sales customer requirements are documented and transitioned to delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, providing recommendations on their potential integration into the enterprise landscape.
  • Travel as needed for customer engagements and industry events.
  • Speak and present at company and industry events.
Your background:
  • You reside in the Washington D.C. metro area.
  • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, IT systems design, or software engineering
  • Expertise in system integration, application architectures, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proven ability to design and implement large-scale enterprise solutions (on-prem and cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML, data analytics architectures, and software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps).
  • Achievements and failures exploring containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless, and automation tools.
  • Have taken a solution from POC to IOC to FOC within the U.S. Public Sector 
  • Expertise in system integration, application architectures, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • and modern architectural patterns such as containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
  • Proficiency in defining and implementing technology strategies that align with business goals.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards and frameworks such as NIST RMF.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership experience mentoring cross-functional teams.
  • Industry certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Clearable and willing to obtain Top Secret security clearance, subject to a polygraph.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the position and subsidiary status.
 Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have: 
  • Comfortability with MarkLogic and / or other Multi-model and NOSQL databases
  • Burned or destroyed a Test Kitchen with a Chef cookbook (no, not food related)
  • Thoughts and opinions about semantic ontologies
  • Built a 3-tier web application
  • Experience serving in the trenches or onsite in customer-focused roles: either professional services or Pre-Sales engineering
  • Training or professional education on how to conduct a demo
  • CISSP or other DoD 8750 IAT Level II+
  • Knowledge of modern security practices
  • Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Full-scope polygraph
