About the role
The Cybersecurity Engineer we hire for this role will work to identify and mitigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities for a ground system for a new United States Space Force (USSF) satellite constellation. This person will work with the program's engineering team to architect, develop and sell-off products to a government customer. Work will include configuration development, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and testing, and delivery of a secure environment for Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission operations. Ideally, this candidate has experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF).
What you'll do
Key responsibilities for the Cybersecurity Engineer include:
- Develop Cyber Plans and Procedures
- Work with Systems Engineers to develop solutions that manage cybersecurity risks within systems
- Perform cybersecurity scans, analyze results and harden systems
- Generate documentation required to achieve approval to operate systems
- Interface with the customer, leveraging strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Required Qualifications
- Must hold DoD Secret Clearance, at minimum
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Computer Science (Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education)
- Experience with developing and validating technical requirements and creating program level documents for cybersecurity policies
- Understanding of cyber tools and frameworks
- Experience with incident response and management
- Ability to communicate technical information via oral presentation and written format
Preferred/Bonus Qualifications
- Strong focus on internal and external customer success
- Familiar with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Understanding of ethical hacking and penetration
- Experience working within an agile workflow
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR)

- DoD Secret or higher clearance is preferred. All applicants must be US citizens eligible for a US Government security clearance
Expected Salary Range
Depending on experience and skillset, most candidates will earn between $80,000 and $110,000 per year.

We combine these factors with market and business considerations to extend a job offer.
