Join our global Information Security team

Our Information Security Compliance Team is central to Akamai's commitment to get ahead of changes around security standards. We are a team of security subject matter experts. We translate compliance requirements into verifiable stories that provide guidance to engineering teams/explain our procedures to assessors.

Shape internet security

You will help our team safeguard the security of Akamai's infrastructure/ provide internal advocacy for security practices. You will work closely with product/engineering teams to help ensure our systems meet the safety/security compliance needs of our U.S. Public Sector customers.

As a Senior Security Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Evaluating the effectiveness/efficiency of compliance program activities and lead improvements with delivery at scale in mind
  • Leading efforts to prepare and incorporate new products into Akamai's FedRAMP authorizations
  • Completing activities required to maintain and update FedRAMP Continuous Monitoring documentation
  • Working closely with engineering/product teams to implement/configure the required security controls and safeguards to maintain compliance
  • Identifying and addressing recurring patterns and challenges
  • Leading efforts in support of compliance with the U.S. public sector i.e. CMMC/other regulations in the region

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science/Engineering/Management Information Systems/ its equivalent.
  • Have experience with FedRAMP Authorizations
  • Be familiar with vulnerability scanning tools and CVSS scoring methodology
  • Have experience in IT security, IT risk management or IT audit
  • Have experience with industry compliance and security standards including: FedRAMP, NIST/DoD frameworks, SOC 2, ISO 27x, PCI
  • Possess the ability to advise customers on architectures to securely meet business needs

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $101,400 - $210,600/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
