POSITION SUMMARY 
Sony Corporation of America has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Coordinator, Risk & Compliance to concurrently support the Compliance and Corporate Programs & Initiatives Departments. This is a hybrid position, based in New York City. 

 

We are looking for a highly-motivated and detail-oriented individual who is professional, enthusiastic, good at multi-tasking, and eager to contribute to and learn about a variety of enterprise risk and compliance management topics. We work in a fast-paced, hands-on, small-team environment where being both a self-starter and team player is critical.   

 

This position will be responsible for contributing to various activities, including helping the team to identify and execute upon opportunities to address enterprise risk, including by enhancing and expanding our use of technology.  

 

The ideal candidate will have prior relevant work experience, a demonstrated ability to concurrently manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment, and proficiency in data analytics and a wide variety of software platforms. 

This position will be on a Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the NYC office .

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Contribute to a variety of projects, tasks, and day-to-day operations focused on ensuring compliance and the identification, assessment, and mitigation of enterprise risk.  
  • Support process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and enhance efficiency, including the use of technology and data analytics to manage compliance and mitigate operational risk.  
  • Track the status of specific projects and tasks, including maintaining project management tools and creating executive summary presentations and reports. 
  • Manage administration of compliance training courses, including collaborating with Human Resources at SCA and operating subsidiaries. Prepare monthly and quarterly compliance training reports. 
  • Maintain information regarding enterprise assets in Microsoft Excel and the Archer Governance, Risk & Compliance (“GRC”) system (e.g., information regarding business units, business processes, IT systems, 3rd party vendor engagements, etc.). 
  • Manage and track the status of compliance assessments and certifications.  
  • Manage confidential log of reports raised through Sony’s Ethics & Compliance Hotline for SCA and regional affiliates. 
  • Manage ethics & compliance reporting to headquarters for SCA and regional affiliates to SGC.  
  • Help manage SCA Securities Trading Policy, including processing of pre-clearance requests to trade in Sony securities.  
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans, business continuity plans, and related documentation of response protocols and capabilities.  
  • Prepare, review, and revise all types of written communications, including policy documents and internal communications. 
  • Organize large group meetings and internal conferences, including drafting and distributing meeting agendas and ensuring the coordination of meeting logistics. 
  • Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above 

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION 

Your qualifications and experience should include:  

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years of related work experience. 
  • Previous experience in enterprise risk and compliance management and competency in the assessment of risks and controls highly preferred.  
  • Ability to break down a complex problem into components and to recommend solutions by using data analysis and control / risk mitigation recommendations.  
  • Strong technology aptitude. Prior experience in evaluating and implementing technology solutions and technology-driven process improvements highly preferred.  
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including an advanced level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Proficiency with Workday LMS and Archer GRC system is a plus. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent visualization skills with an interest in working with data and interpreting results.   
  • Experience supporting multiple team members in a fast-paced environment. 
  • High ethical standards and integrity, including the ability to maintain confidentiality.  
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States unrestricted.

The target annualized base salary range for this position is $68,000 to $75,000. In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 5%. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
