The Technical Privacy & Engineering Manager and El Salvador Data Protection Officer will execute the technology and data strategy for the Privacy Office and the Firm’s enterprise global privacy program, aligned with overall business objectives. This role will report to the Technical Privacy & Engineering Director and will focus on the “data” component of data privacy, including using privacy enhancing technologies and executing the Privacy Office’s strategic technology roadmap to enable privacy program objectives and reporting. This role will also execute and manage the Firm’s privacy-by-design program, including education and coordination with technology and business resources to develop and standardize processes to include privacy requirements and related controls in technology evaluation, procurement, design, development, and evaluation processes.
Responsibilities:
Technical Privacy & Engineering Strategy and Leadership
Manage and execute the technology and data strategy for the Privacy Office and the Firm’s enterprise global privacy program, aligned with overall business objectives. Educates internal stakeholders on the “data” component of data privacy to enable effective adoption of the privacy program.
Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of technology professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.
Manages the Firm’s privacy-by-design program, including education and coordination with technology and business resources to develop and standardize processes to include privacy requirements and related controls in technology evaluation, procurement, design, development, and innovation processes.
Collaborate with other Privacy Office team members to understand the privacy impacts of existing and proposed data assets, systems, and data flows.
Manages the Firm’s privacy engineers, and as part of the Enterprise Privacy Program, including education and coordination with technical resources in the lines of business.
Drives close strategic and operational alignment with the Firm’s information security, data governance, and artificial intelligence governance programs.
Serves as secondary enterprise technology subject matter expert on data sovereignty, data localization, data modeling, and multi-geo architectures, enabling business stakeholders to execute global digital strategy and increased integration between US, Canada, USI, and USE operations.
Educates internal business and technology stakeholders, including platform and business process owners, on impacts to existing and proposed products, platforms, and service offerings form new and emerging global privacy and data laws, and associated workstreams necessary for those stakeholders to operationalize privacy requirements.
Serves as secondary Privacy Office liaison to data owners, data stewards, and other data stakeholders to define and standardize solutions and processes to maximize data privacy process adoption, mitigate privacy risks in data systems and flows, and enhance efficient compliance with privacy laws, leveraging automation, technology, and/or already existing processes where possible.
Primary responsibility for executing and driving adoption of privacy enhancing and data governance technologies to reduce manual privacy compliance processes and drive efficiencies through automation.
Drives ethical and responsible data and technology practices to enable business strategy, digital transformation, and responsible innovation by assisting teams in following firm data privacy initiatives.
Serves as Data Protection Officer for RSM US-El Salvador.
Technical Privacy Governance and Solutions Strategy
Implement technology solutions to support privacy and data governance processes.
Secondary responsibility for strategic development and maintenance of the Privacy Office’s instance of OneTrust and other solutions, including metadata management tools.
Assess the privacy and data impacts of new and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, metaverse, etc.
Execute the implementation and maintenance of robust data governance practices, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and availability across Technical Privacy & Engineering solutions.
Collaborate with Information Security, Privacy Office, and Office of Risk Management to implement security controls for Technical Privacy & Engineering solutions

Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree – Required
Data Privacy credentials – Preferred
Technical/ Soft Skills

Familiarity with privacy engineering methodologies, risk assessments, and security frameworks
