The Opportunity: 

ECI has an exciting opportunity for as a Cybersecurity Operations Intern, you will support our XDR, GRC, and SOC teams on a variety of projects— from scripting data ingestions in our analytics platform to organizing compliance documentation and enriching threat intel feeds. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to real-world security operations and build skills that align with your cybersecurity or computer science studies.

This is a hybrid role to work in our New York office a minimum of 3 days in office and 2 remote.

What you will do:

XDR Support

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for data ingestion into our Elastic/ELK stack
  • Assist with tuning detection rules and dashboards for endpoint, network, and cloud telemetry

GRC Support

  • Organize and maintain client compliance documentation (policies, risk assessments, audit artifacts)
  • Update internal sales and marketing content to reflect service offerings and case studies
  • Participate in penetration testing engagements — from scoping to report drafting

SOC Support

  • Help catalog Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and enrich threat intelligence feeds
  • Maintain runbooks and client-specific playbooks for incident response
  • Assist with ticket triage and documentation of investigation findings
  • Cross-Team Collaboration
  • Attend daily stand-ups and security meetings
  • Produce clear, well-structured technical notes and presentations

 

Who you are: 

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field; entering senior year in Fall 2025
  • Proficiency in Python scripting
  • Familiarity with Elastic/ELK or similar SIEM/XDR platforms (bonus)
  • Basic understanding of network principles (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
  • Working knowledge of security/compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO, SOC, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to commit to at least 3 days/week onsite in our NYC office
