Main Roads WA is seeking a highly skilled Security Solutions Architect to support its evolving hybrid environment, spanning both on-premises and cloud infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in shaping, guiding, and maintaining the security architecture to ensure the protection of the organisation’s data, assets, and users across its corporate and operational technology environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and review secure technical solutions across infrastructure and cloud platforms.
• Champion security best practices in all project and operational activities.
• Collaborate with ICT and Cyber Security teams to ensure security is embedded from conception through implementation.
• Support incident detection, response, and management, including post-incident reviews (PIRs).
• Align security services and procedures with ITIL practices including change, incident, and problem management.
• Participate in daily operations meetings and contribute to the security section of Ops Reports.
• Review vulnerability scanning reports and ensure remediation is tracked and completed.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with the customers security strategies and frameworks.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience in a Security Architecture or Cyber Security Solutions role within a complex environment.
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust principles and cloud security frameworks (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Intune, XDR, SIEM).
• Hands-on experience with security tooling including firewall configuration, endpoint protection, SIEM, XDR, and posture management.
• Excellent understanding of ICT infrastructure, networking, and security in both on-prem and cloud environments.
• Strong familiarity with government cybersecurity practices and external threat reporting tools (ACSC, DGOV, etc.).
• Proficient in incident response, risk assessment, and security architecture governance.
Desirable:
• Previous experience working with or within government agencies or critical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and working within SOC-integrated environments.
• Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SABSA, Azure Security Engineer Associate) highly regarded.
