About the Role

Maersk is looking for a seasoned, self-driven professional to lead Security and Business Continuity (SBC) for our landside operations across Europe, encompassing warehouses, depots, and transportation activities. This is a strategic leadership role that combines operational oversight with resilience planning to protect our people, assets, and supply chain integrity.

As the go-to expert for SBC, you will work across functions and geographies to ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards, drive continuous improvement, and enhance preparedness through training, audits, and risk mitigation strategies. You will also play a central role in managing crises and aligning SBC initiatives with Maersk’s broader business objectives.

We’re looking for a strong people leader, capable of operating in a matrixed environment, with a creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

Security Management

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of security measures in accordance with corporate policies and standards.

• Conduct regular assessments to proactively identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.

• Develop and maintain regional security and contingency response plans across all operational sites.

• Perform foresight and threat assessments to anticipate and address evolving

business risks.

• Oversee Duty of Care programs, including travel safety and relocation protocols.

• Collaborate with Special Operations teams to counter illicit cargo movement and contraband trafficking.

Business Continuity Management

• Manage the full Business Continuity lifecycle: Business Impact Analysis, Plan

development, testing, and updates.

• Act as the regional lead during disruptions, advising stakeholders and ensuring

minimal operational impact.

• Maintain a clear overview of recovery options and continuity strategies across all facilities.

Crisis Management

• Maintain and implement the Crisis Management framework, ensuring effective

incident response protocols.

• Lead the resolution of Level 2 crisis incidents (excluding APMT and ocean

operations), ensuring timely escalation and cross-functional coordination.

What We’re Looking For

• 10–15 years of experience in Security Management across the European region.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Business Continuity and Crisis

Management.

• Proven expertise in dealing with illicit goods and trafficking within logistics or

supply chain contexts.

• Industry experience in logistics, supply chain, FMCG, or retail is strongly

preferred.

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Security, Risk Management, or a related field.

• Recognized certifications such as CBCI, CPP, TAPA, CSMP are a strong plus.

• Ability to lead through influence and collaboration within a matrix organization.

• Exceptional stakeholder management, with clear, persuasive communication

skills, both written and verbal.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into insights and drive process

improvement.

• A strong people leader who fosters a culture of integrity, trust, and resilience.

Additional Information

• Travel within Europe required, as needed, to support operations and initiatives.
