Job Description
Under direction, is responsible for developing, building, and supporting native-cloud, multi-cloud, or hybrid-cloud product platforms that support applications or business solutions that will have system-wide impact, integrate across the enterprise, and involve multiple technical environments and disciplines. Leads execution of the cloud strategy set by architecture by providing leadership and design of a cloud-based network and IT infrastructure environment. Leads the implementation and integration of cloud technologies to support the infrastructure and service needs across business and IT functions. Exercises technical supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions
- Coaches other engineers and delivers expertise in a range of areas, including systems design, cloud impacts on product licensing, testing and implementation of infrastructure, virtualization, cloud computing, network engineering, and systems and data flow monitoring.
- Develops and validates cloud standards, capacity planning models, and load-balancing/redundancy solutions.
- Troubleshoots complex product platforms and performs root cause analysis.
- Identifies, designs, and implements maintenance activities, testing procedures, order of operations and backout methods for patching, updating, or upgrading cloud-based platforms, products, or systems.
- Identifies and designs monitoring solutions, including databases, websites, virtual networks, cloud storage, virtual machines, alerts, and other events to track service data such as usage and fees, user experience, performance, uptime, and availability.
- Leads the technical evaluation process and approves improvements to the availability, reliability, and performance of cloud-based products.
- May assist in negotiation efforts for contracts with vendors.
- Coordinates and works on multiple cross-functional initiatives, systems, applications, teams, products, and/or projects and serves as an internal advisor to ITSD and business units.
- Leads short and long-term planning efforts with management.
- Develops and evaluates technical requirements relative to cloud-based products and platforms.
- Maintains training and research on emerging technologies and how they might apply within ITSD.
- Leads in the design of business continuity & disaster recovery requirements, methods, and procedures based on established policies.
- Leads the identification of vulnerabilities and development of mitigation and contingency plans.
- Designs standards, procedures, and processes which ensure the stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architectures.
- Analyzes and reporting on key metrics and KPIs.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Four (4) years of work experience in Systems Administration, Networking, DBA, DBMS design and support, and/or PC Support roles
- Three (3) years of work experience in developing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions to include deploying and debugging cloud stacks, educating teams on new cloud initiatives,and implementation of cloud infrastructure security practices.
- Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.
