indie is seeking a skilled and proactive Network and Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure and security systems. This role is critical to ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our enterprise network. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with network architecture, cybersecurity, and enterprise change coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

• Implement and manage security controls to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.

• Troubleshoot network issues, such as connectivity failures and performance bottlenecks.

• Monitor network traffic and security logs to detect and address threats and vulnerabilities.

• Perform regular risk assessments and security audits to ensure system integrity.

• Collaborate with global IT and cross-functional teams to design secure, scalable network solutions.

• Respond to and manage incidents involving network security breaches or system outages.

• Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and security policies.

• Stay informed on emerging threats, technologies, and industry best practices in networking and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in both network engineering and cybersecurity, ideally in enterprise environments.

• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and security technologies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, SASE).

• Proficiency with network monitoring, diagnostic, and management tools.

• Experience in hybrid cloud environments and cloud security practices.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to perform under pressure.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams.

• Proficient in written and verbal English.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with SD-WAN, VPN, and cloud security platforms.

• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash).

• Working knowledge of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, IATF, ISO 27001, TISAX, and SOX.

• Experience with technologies such as:

  • Network/Security Tools: pfSense, VyOS, FortiGate, adam:ONE, OpenDNS, Palo Alto PRISMA SASE

  • Infrastructure & OS: VMware, Ubiquiti UniFi, FSOS, Cumulus OS, SONiC

  • Cluster Management: SLURM, IBM LSF
