Chief Cybersecurity Engineer Technical Manager

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Chief Cybersecurity Engineer Technical Manager to join our talented, dynamic team.    

As a Chief Cybersecurity Engineer Technical Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the mission of the U.S. Department of the Treasury by leading cybersecurity engineering and architecture design for the Treasury Shared Services SOC, driving secure integration of SOC tools, automation, and advanced content development.

This position will be required to work onsite 50% of the time in the DC Metro area, with site visits to Martinsburg, WV and Memphis, TN.

Duties

In this role, a typical day will include: 

• Leading architecture and engineering support across the TSSSOC, including network and cloud security components. 
• Directing tool integration, configuration, and tuning of platforms such as Zeek, Snort, Splunk, YARA, and NiFi. 
• Overseeing development and testing of custom analytics and orchestrations. 
• Coordinating with the SOC operations, threat intel, and PMO teams to align engineering efforts with mission needs. 
• Supporting documentation of architectural designs, implementation plans, and security baselines. 
• Driving continuous improvement through automation, performance tuning, and engineering innovation. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and secure system design
• Certifications such as CISSP, GCIA, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent are preferred
• Advanced knowledge of SOC infrastructure, open-source and commercial security tools, and federal compliance frameworks
• Experience leading technical teams in complex enterprise environments (on-prem and cloud)
• Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret preferred
