SOC Project Manager

We have an opening for a full-time SOC Project Manager to join our talented, dynamic team.    

As a SOC Project Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the mission of the U.S. Department of the Treasury by managing SOC operations across multiple shifts, ensuring timely detection, analysis, and escalation of cyber incidents, and maintaining 24x7x365 operational readiness.

Duties 

In this role, a typical day will include: 

• Overseeing daily SOC operations, including shift coverage and escalation processes for incident management. 

• Supporting real-time event detection, triage, coordination, and reporting aligned to Treasury’s cyber defense mission. 

• Managing operational staff across shifts, ensuring adherence to SOPs and incident response workflows. 

• Liaising with bureau teams and government stakeholders to ensure alignment of operations with mission goals. 

• Tracking SOC metrics (MTTD, MTTR, false positive rates, etc.) and identifying opportunities for performance improvement. 

• Maintaining documentation including shift handover reports, escalation protocols, and training materials. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, or related field. 

• 7+ years of SOC experience, with 3+ years managing 24x7x365 SOC teams in a federal environment. 

• CISSP, GCIH, or GCDA preferred 

• Proven experience with tools such as Splunk, ServiceNow, endpoint detection platforms (e.g., Trellix, Defender). 

• Familiarity with federal incident handling standards (NIST 800-61, CNSSI 1011). 

• Strong operational coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

• Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret eligibility preferred.
