SOC Project Technical Manager

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent SOC Project Technical Manager to join our talented, dynamic team.    

As a SOC Project Technical Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the mission of the U.S. Department of the Treasury by overseeing technical delivery and execution of 24x7x365 SOC operations, managing analysts across shifts, and driving detection and response improvements to protect national financial systems.

Duties 

In this role, a typical day will include: 

• Leading technical oversight of 24x7x365 SOC operations, ensuring effective monitoring, triage, and escalation workflows. 

• Serving as a technical escalation point for incident coordination, investigations, and event analysis. 

• Coordinating across shift leads, engineering teams, and the Threat & Research group to ensure alignment of SOC activities. 

• Reviewing and tuning detection logic, alerting rules, and use case coverage with engineering support. 

• Supporting incident reporting, ticketing, and dashboard tracking in ServiceNow and other tools. 

• Participating in after-action reviews and supporting continuous improvement efforts. 

• Ensuring analysts are trained, equipped, and adhering to playbooks and SOPs. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field. 
• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or technical management role within a 24x7 SOC. 
• Certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, or CISSP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of incident response practices, SOC processes, and security technologies. 
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk), EDR platforms, and network security tools. 
• Active Top Secret clearance required.
