Senior Information Security Specialist - Disaster Recovery

Overview:
- Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans, including procedures for data restoration, and system recovery. Regularly review and update plans to reflect changes in technology and recovery requirements.
- Plan and execute regular disaster recovery tests and exercises to validate the effectiveness of the plans and identify areas for improvement. Document test results and implement necessary changes.
- Maintain effective communication with IT teams, business units, and external vendors during disaster recovery events. Coordinate recovery efforts and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct training for IT staff and business users on disaster recovery procedures and responsibilities. Promote awareness of disaster recovery best practices throughout the organization.
Job Description
Designs and implements information security architectures and solutions for the organization. Identifies probable system exposure, compromise, problems or design flaws. Provides security design assistance on new products and internally-developed projects.
Job Responsibility
- Defines and maintains policies, standards, configuration, and operation procedures and guidelines regarding security, identity and access.
- Defines data security, confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Ensures compliance with agency security policies and standards.
- Recommends updates and improvements to agency security policies and standards.
- Escalates issues to the leadership to limit serious performance impact.
- Analyzes and designs IT security infrastructure to maximize performance and capacity.
- Plans, initiates, and implements new security infrastructure architecture or design changes.
- Defines, manages, and monitors security devices, including procedures for detecting, reporting and responding to computer security incidents.
- Provides guidance to team members.
- Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networking, and applications.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery technologies and methodologies, such as data replication, failover, and recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
- Experience with disaster recovery testing and exercising.
- Experience with disaster recovery management tools, such as Assurance Continuity Manager, is a plus.
