None/Not RequiredCollins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software/Cybersecurity Engineer. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.
In this role, you will be responsible for protecting the deliverable airborne control systems products through the performance of security risk analysis and inclusion of required cybersecurity functions as well as performing security testing and supporting certification activities and compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with the product development teams to support software and electronics program development and support activities throughout the product development lifecycle. This will include working with the organization to embrace Product Security and ensure readiness for future program requirements while receiving mentorship from the wider program teams.
This position will be at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
What YOU will do:
- Aid in developing Product Security expertise and skillsets throughout the organization
- Develop Cybersecurity processes to meet internal and industry requirements
- Support program Cybersecurity activities
- Perform security risk assessments
- Support response to Cybersecurity incidents.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards
- Define and apply security analysis/test tools and methods
- Develop and provide integration support for advancement product cybersecurity technologies in embedded control systems
- Oversee key technologies and standard security functionality development
- Evaluate/contribute to technical proposals
- Ensure adherence to DFARS, NIST and DO-326A/DO-356A Security processes
- Foster organizational adoption of Secure System Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)

Qualifications YOU must have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in systems and software engineering principles focused on embedded control systems.
- Awareness of product cybersecurity considerations
- Technical design leadership experience
- Knowledge of programming languages (C, C++, Python, etc.).
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
- Experience with code repository systems (E.g. ClearCase, SVN, Bit Bucket, Artifactory).
- Experience with one or more of the following tools: GitLab, Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Direct experience with Agile methodologies.
- General working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization.
- Awareness of industry standards such as RTCA DO178C, DO-326A / DO-356A, DFARS and NIST Standards
