The Incident Manager at AllPoints Fibre plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient handling of incidents within our organisation. They are responsible for coordinating and overseeing the resolution of incidents to minimise disruption and impact on business operations. IM plays a critical role in maintaining the security and stability of an organisation's operations by leading incidents, learning from them, and implementing measures to prevent their recurrence.
What you will be doing:
- Quickly identify and classify incidents based on their impact and urgency.
- Ensure incidents are properly categorized to prioritize the response.
- Lead the incident response process, orchestrating actions of the response team.
- Determine the scope and severity of the incident.
- Maintain clear and regular communication with all relevant stakeholders, including internal teams, management, and external partners.
- Provide timely updates on incident status, progress, and resolution efforts.
- Develop and implement an incident resolution plan, assigning tasks and responsibilities to the response team.
- Collaborate with technical teams to identify and apply solutions for mitigating and resolving incidents.
- Document all actions taken during the incident response process.
- Prepare and distribute incident reports to relevant parties.
- Conduct post-incident reviews to analyse root causes and contributing factors.
- Identify areas for improvement in incident response and prevention.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
- Develop and maintain an incident management framework, including policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees and stakeholders about incident response procedures.
- Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of incident management processes.
- Propose and implement enhancements to incident management procedures.
- Ensure that contractual agreements related to incident response are followed.
- Allocate resources effectively to manage multiple incidents simultaneously.
- Ensure that the incident response team has the necessary tools, training, and support.
- Maintain a repository of incident-related documents, reports, and evidence.

- Verify that all incident-related tasks have been completed.
- Confirm that all stakeholders are informed of the incident's resolution.
- Cover the On-call rota to support the Incident Management process.
About you:
You will have...
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Risk Management, IT, or a relevant field (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Science, Business).
- Proven experience in incident management or a related role, with a strong understanding of IT, systems and technologies.
- Knowledge of incident management frameworks, such as ITIL or NIST.
- Understanding of IT, systems, networks, applications, and infrastructure is essential. This includes knowledge of operating systems, databases, networking protocols, and cloud computing platforms.
- A strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities is crucial. Knowledge of common attack vectors and techniques used by threat actors is essential for effective incident management.
- Awareness of data protection laws, industry specific regulations, and legal requirements related to incident reporting and breach notifications is necessary, especially in regulated industries.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles is important for assessing the potential impact of incidents and prioritizing responses.
- Prior experience in incident response or a related role is valuable.
