Leading digital transformation solutions by Optimiza — tailored for growth, innovation, and operational excellence.Optimiza is seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Data Privacy Officer to lead our data privacy initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations. In this critical role, you will oversee the organization’s data privacy strategy, managing risks related to data collection, storage, and processing while fostering a culture of privacy awareness throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain data privacy policies and procedures that comply with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Conduct regular risk assessments and data privacy impact assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for data privacy-related inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees to promote a culture of privacy and ensure understanding of data protection responsibilities.
- Monitor changes in data protection laws and regulations and lead initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and business units to ensure data management practices align with privacy requirements.
- Prepare privacy-related reports for executive leadership and compliance audits.
- Respond to data subject requests and manage processes related to data access, correction, and deletion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or legal roles, with a focus on data protection regulations.
- In-depth understanding of data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.).
- Proven experience in developing and implementing data privacy policies and practices within an organization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in conducting privacy training and awareness programs.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) are highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
