This Manager: Revenue Assurance Fraud Management is responsible for providing specialist guidance to the Senior Manager - Revenue Assurance Fraud Management on business assurance matters. They are responsible to identify and deliver the design of all TechCo processes including systems, technology and platform controls as well as support and oversee implementation within Mtn Eswatini that will ultimately improve residual risk thereby significantly reducing the leakage and fraud risks for MTN operations. Improve risk coverage by designing and recommending new/improved profitability including participating in the evaluation and delivery of RAFM technology design and build used in the detection of leakage risks within the breadth of MTN
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy Implementation
- Provide input into the creation of sub-departmental strategy in line with overarching departmental goals for Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management associated with process, systems and technology risk and control design related input to Revenue Assurance strategy.
Operational Delivery
- Support discussions in OPCO regarding the development, integration and enablement of technology frameworks for RAFM as they apply to the operating companies
- Support the development of technology enablement, change and data quality framework definition
Research and implement new/improved technology to improve overall efficiency and agility of the function
- Develop and implement dashboards and data visualization tools
- Standardize processes through establishing uniformity of technical procedures, tools and technologies and quality requirements.
- Responsible for the design, implementation and oversight of governance relating to RAFM technology use, including contract and service level design, key performance indicators, target and general performance monitoring of MTN Group’s RAFM technology vendor and service provider performance.
- Responsible for the design, implementation, and management of RAFM technology frameworks.
- Technology enablement related input to MTN Group’s Revenue Assurance strategy.
- Research and analysis of technology trends, assurance standards and governance risk in all verticals, providing advice to MTN Group RAFM and OPCO counterparts to improve awareness and contribute to development readiness.
- Analysis, insight and management of technology-related leakage risk and opportunity losses insight and dissemination.
- Identification, design and implementation project management of improvement to new controls and processes in so far as leakage risk and opportunity loss mitigation is concerned.
- Involved in decision-making in relation to partner and vendor selection, deployment and management to ensure the safeguarding of service revenues and profits.
- Support the business including commercial, finance, technology and platforms related process with risks and control input to MTN Group’s Revenue Assurance strategy.
- Research and analysis of business trends, assurance standards, governance risk management and controls in all verticals, providing advice to MTN Group RAFM and OPCO counterparts to improve internal control coverage, knowledge, awareness and contribute to risk management and assurance readiness.
- Identification, design and implementation management of improvement to MTN Group Business Process, Systems and Technology infrastructure as far as leakage risk mitigation is concerned.
- Explore more efficiencies in Business Process Automation
Manage, facilitate and drive continuous testing on the design and effectiveness of these key internal business management controls, systems and processes for fraud detection and prevention
- Facilitate internal Group discussions on the development of Best Practices for Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management as they apply to MTN.
- Manage the introduction of Best Practices into the local operating companies, ensuring quality and timeliness of the deliverables are achieved through effective management of these projects.
- Align to the governance requirements of the organization in so far as they relate to Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management
- Documentation of governance compliance needs that can be used as a reference document for plans and improvement relating to Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management
Customer Management
- Manage relationships with technology customers and stakeholders, interacting with the OpCo RAFM technology teams, obtaining information as appropriate and ensuring that all queries are responded to quickly and effectively.
- Provide Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management support and where possible, advice to Technology BU and OpCo RAFM regarding RAFM technology developments and plans.
- Management of vendor responsibilities according to scope/SLA provided
- Ensure constant best practice systems and technologies are delivered, even if through third parties
Technology and Innovation
- Understand the role of automation in risk assurance and support in driving automation awareness and adoption initiatives.
- Support with Designing robotic process automation (RPA), machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI) uses cases.
- Strong Appreciation for how technology can be used as a key enabler for RAFM risk mitigation activities.
- Strong appreciation for Telecoms technology and architecture evolution in regard to GSM Core Network, LTE, 5G, Charging/Billing, provisioning, cloud and big data etc.
- Support the innovation process journey of initiation, development and implementation/termination of innovations.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Minimum 3-year Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (Business Information Systems/Informatics), Accounting, Finance, BSc Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Post-graduate qualification (CISA, CISM, CRISC, MBA, or CA(SA) is advantageous).
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a senior specialist in either risk management or audit.
- At least 5 years' professional exposure to the telecommunications industry, ideally within a medium-to-large organization.
- Profound understanding of the telecommunications sector.
- Demonstrated strong understanding or practical experience with risk management and audit principles.
- Familiarity with emerging markets is considered advantageous.
