Role Summary:Magnet Forensics is seeking a Director of Information Security Operations with a strong background in security and management to lead our Security Operations team. This role involves collaborating with various company teams, including product and infrastructure teams. 
The Director will serve as a security leader for teams monitoring security events and responding to incidents within our corporate environments. 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting, developing, and coaching operational analysts and engineers.
  • Identifying industry threats and trends to prioritize security efforts.
  • Managing security operations to ensure quality and predictability.
  • Develop reports on security metrics and trends for leadership.
  • Reviewing security frameworks to enhance security controls.
  • Guiding the team to optimize detection and response times.
  • Providing training on emerging threats and technologies.
  • Assessing and improving the team’s technical output.
  • Maintaining threat models to prioritize risk management.
  • Collaborating with clients, auditors, and internal teams to validate security.
  • Developing strategies to reduce security risks across various platforms.
  • Leading incident response procedures from preparation to lessons learned.
  • Collecting evidence to support client and audit requests.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Assurance, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent self-study with proficiency in digital forensics, incident response, secure application development, penetration testing, or other security domains. 
  • Five years of experience managing technical teams 
  • Ten years of experience in information assurance, including security operations, firewall and network administration, or managed detection and response in regulated environments. 
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and optimizing security controls. 
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity tools, techniques, and procedures for threat identification and asset protection. 
  • Excellent presentation skills and confidence in data-driven insights. 
  • Ability to comprehend technical details in vulnerability assessments and testing reports. 
  • Knowledge of vulnerability prioritization methods. 
  • Calm, serious attitude with technical aptitude and urgent communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and sound judgment with sensitive information. 
  • Ability to work remotely while effectively managing a high-performing team.

Salary & Benefits:

  • The Salary range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual salary may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills.   • Salary Range:

  • MIN: $155,200 - MID: $194,000 - MAX: $232,800 Currency: CAD
  • MIN: $180,000 - MID: $225,000 - MAX :$270,000 Currency: USD
