Cyber Security Engineers are responsible for researching, evaluating, and designing technical security solutions for the enterprise in support of the Cybersecurity strategies; providing technical security assessment support; developing, maintaining, and monitoring an effective Cybersecurity program to provide logical and physical protection of Providence’s technical resources. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Ensures product design integrity, evaluating capability-cost considerations, conducting procurement processes, managing engineering tasks, deployment configurations, and maintaining operational systems. 
  • Promotes organizational agility through secure design practices, facilitating cross-boundary and multifunctional collaboration, and providing comprehensive support. 
  • Maintains operational standards by performing health checks, implementing upgrades, engaging with vendor support, enhancing features, and managing critical infrastructure outages. 
  • Enhances operational effectiveness by improving coverage, augmenting capabilities, addressing critical escalations, and ensuring timely remediation. 
  • Stays informed of the latest advancements in security technologies and emerging trends. 
  • Applies critical thinking and expertise for complex troubleshooting, problem solving, and analysis to achieve resolution.

  • This role is a hybrid position and will report into a primary hub location weekly as scheduled 

Required qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of related experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering -OR- a combination of equivalent education / experience
  • Upon hire: Comptia Security+, SANS GIAC
  • 1-3 or more years of related experience
  • 1 or more years of experience in cybersecurity or related technical fields (e.g., Cloud, Network)
  • Security + Certification or similar cybersecurity related certifications preferred
  • Certifications in cloud computing, networking, or core technical skills

  • Montana: Great Falls: Min: $30.59, Max: $47.49 
  • Oregon: Portland Service Area: Min: $40.11, Max: $62.27 
  • Washington – Renton, Seattle: Min:$41.81, Max: $64.91 
  • Washington: Olympia: Min: $40.11, Max: $62.27 
  • Washington - Vancouver: Min: $40.11, Max: $62.27 
  • Washington: Spokane: Min: $35.69, Max: $55.41

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
