A day in the life of a Senior Data Storage Administrator (Cloud Architect): Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a company's cloud-based data storage solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud technologies, data storage principles, and security best practices. They work with various cloud providers and services to ensure data is stored securely, efficiently, and cost-effectively
This job is for you if you:Are a highly skilled, experienced Senior Data Storage Administrator (Cloud Architect) that can support Information Technology Service Management integrations with by providing software engineering services to support the overall network architecture and data, voice, and video applications operating on the network. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and Implementing Cloud Storage Solutions: This involves choosing appropriate cloud storage services (e.g., object storage, block storage), designing storage architectures, and implementing solutions that meet the company's specific needs.
  • Managing Cloud Storage Environments: This includes provisioning and configuring storage resources, monitoring performance and capacity, and ensuring data is backed up and recoverable.
  • Ensuring Data Security and Compliance: This involves implementing security measures to protect data from unauthorized access, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: This involves diagnosing and resolving issues related to storage performance, availability, and security.
  • Collaborating with Other Teams: This includes working with network engineers, application developers, and security teams to ensure that data storage solutions are integrated seamlessly with other systems.
  • Staying Up-to-Date with Cloud Technologies: This involves keeping abreast of the latest developments in cloud storage technologies, and evaluating new solutions and services.
  • Providing Technical Guidance: This includes offering technical advice and guidance to other team members on cloud storage-related matters.
  • Developing and Maintaining Documentation: This includes creating and maintaining documentation related to cloud storage solutions, including standard operating procedures, policies, and procedures.
  • Working with Cost-Estimation and Technology Evaluation: This involves evaluating different storage solutions and recommending the most cost-effective and efficient options. 

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology
  • Target Experience: Seven (7) years’ experience in software engineering or IT systems architecture, of which three (3) years must demonstrate experience as a Cloud Engineer/Architect with a proven record of accomplishment of cloud engagements and digital transformations (e.g. working with Azure or AWS, developing technical strategies used for rollout; and building cloud governance plans).. 

Special Qualifications:

  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III
  • Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) Baseline Requirements any of the following: CASP+CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP 
Required Level of Security Clearance: Top SecretExpected Travel: 15% CONUS locations as required
